Terms and Conditions
Effective 12 October 2026
By downloading or using Plateflow, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the app.
Plateflow is operated by Joshua Reno Nicastro, ABN 46 236 259 956, Brisbane, Queensland, Australia (“we”, “us”). Our Privacy Policy explains how your information is handled and forms part of this agreement.
You must be at least 13 years old, or the minimum age to consent in your country, to use Plateflow. If you are under 18, a parent or guardian should review these terms with you.
Licence and Apple’s terms
We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to use Plateflow on Apple devices you own or control, for your own non-commercial use, under the Usage Rules in Apple’s Media Services Terms and these terms.
Apple’s standard Licensed Application End User Licence Agreement (EULA) applies to the app. If it conflicts with these terms about your licence to use the app, Apple’s EULA prevails. Apple is not responsible for the app, its maintenance or support, and is a third-party beneficiary of these terms as far as Apple’s EULA says.
Free use and Plateflow Premium
Plateflow is free to use. Some features, including AI recipe import, receipt and price-tag scanning, price tracking, recipe sharing, shared cookbooks for up to 5 people and the daily macro-intake timeline, need a paid Plateflow Premium subscription. Per-recipe macros stay free. We may change which features are free or paid, but we will not remove a paid feature from an active subscriber without notice.
- Plans and price: monthly and annual, at the price shown in the app before you subscribe.
- Free trial: new subscribers get a 7-day free trial. Cancel at least 24 hours before it ends or the subscription starts and your Apple ID is charged.
- Billing and renewal: payment is taken by Apple. Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each period unless you cancel at least 24 hours before it ends.
- Cancelling: manage or cancel in your Apple ID subscription settings. You keep access until the end of the paid period.
- Refunds: Apple processes refunds, so request one through Apple at reportaproblem.apple.com. This does not limit your rights under Australian Consumer Law.
Your content and shared cookbooks
You own the recipes, photos and notes you add. You give us only the permission needed to store them on your device and in your iCloud, sync them, and process them when you use a feature such as AI import.
Only add content you have the right to use. If you import or copy a recipe from a website or book, you are responsible for respecting its copyright.
If you share a cookbook, the people you invite can see and, depending on your settings, edit it. You are responsible for who you invite and what you share. We are not responsible for what members do with shared content, and removing a member does not delete copies they already made.
AI, nutrition, cost and allergen information
Plateflow gives estimates, not guarantees. Please read this section carefully.
- Nutrition: calories and macros are calculated from the ingredients and amounts you enter. They are estimates and are not medical or dietary advice. Talk to a doctor or dietitian about medical conditions, eating disorders, pregnancy or special diets.
- Allergens and food safety: the app does not check recipes for allergens or food safety. Always check ingredient labels and cook food safely. Do not rely on Plateflow for anyone’s allergies or intolerances.
- AI output: AI features can misread a recipe, receipt or price tag, or invent details. Check imported recipes, quantities and prices before you use them.
- Prices and costs: prices come from what you enter and from the receipts and price tags you scan, and may be out of date or wrong. Meal costs are estimates only. Plateflow is not affiliated with or endorsed by any retailer.
Acceptable use and ownership
You agree not to:
- copy, modify, reverse engineer or resell the app, except where the law allows;
- use the app unlawfully, or to upload content that infringes others’ rights or is harmful or abusive;
- interfere with the app, its security, or the AI services behind it, including by sending automated or excessive requests; or
- share your Premium access outside the sharing the app provides.
The Plateflow app, name, logo and design belong to us (or our licensors) and are protected by law. These terms do not transfer any of that to you. If you send us feedback, we may use it without owing you anything for it.
Consumer law, liability and legal terms
Australian Consumer Law. Our services come with guarantees under the Australian Consumer Law that cannot be excluded. Nothing in these terms limits those guarantees or any other right you cannot lawfully waive. If you are outside Australia, your local mandatory consumer rights also still apply.
Limits on our liability. To the extent the law allows, the app is provided “as is” and we are not liable for loss or damage arising from your use of it, including reliance on nutrition, allergen, cost or AI output, or loss of data. Back up anything you cannot afford to lose. Where a consumer guarantee applies and the law allows us to limit liability, our liability is limited to resupplying the service or paying the cost of having it resupplied.
Ending your use. You can stop using Plateflow at any time by deleting it. We may suspend or end your access if you break these terms or the law.
Changes. We may update these terms or the app. We will change the effective date and tell you in the app about material changes. Using the app after a change means you accept it.
Governing law. These terms are governed by the laws of Queensland, Australia, and you submit to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of its courts.
